Birding & Wildlife Tours
Photography by Johnnie Hudman, Wildlife Manager

A mild climate and plentiful vegetation supports abundant wildlife including bison, deer, wild boar, turkey, quail, dove, bobcat, coyote, and raccoon.  Geographic location makes the Ranch home to birds found in the eastern and western half of the United States and brings migratory birds from all points of the compass.   Beautiful insects, such as the Monarch butterfly also migrate through the ranch by the thousands.  Click here for more information on the Monarch butterfly migration through Texas.

There are several ways to enjoy the abundant wildlife on Stasney's Cook Ranch:  Guided birding and nature tours are given via truck, "high rack" or "hay ride" style.   There are also several photo-blinds set up around the ranch.   Hike, bike or ride along our canyons, creeks, and mesas or just hang out  with Johnnie and Tucker on the big patio!   We would be happy to discuss these activities or customize a package that suits your needs.

We are proud to be a part of Great American Trail's - High Plains Wildlife TrailThe trail is a joint effort of Texas Parks & Wildlife and Tex. DOT.
