New Officer's Quarters
We've built two cabins that are replicas of the officers' quarters from Forts Griffin and Fort Concho. Built on the Texas frontier between 1860-1890, these forts and served as the "jumpin' off place" for settlers heading west and as protection during the Indian Wars. |

about these new additions to the ranch!
Our "modernized replica" of Captain Choisy's officers' quarters at Ft. Griffin has a king-sized bed in the master bedroom. In the main room is a twin day-bed with a trundle bed and a futon couch. The quarters has two full baths, two working fireplaces, a large front porch and an excellent view of the valley. It is handicap accessible. There is a wheelchair ramp in the back and a roll-in shower. Fort Griffin is a excellent State park that is located about five miles north of Stasney's Cook Ranch on highway 283 towards Throckmorton. The Texas Forts Trail site also provides great information about the historical significance of the forts and this area. |

| Our "modernized
replica" of the first five officers' quarters built at Ft.
Concho in 1870 is about 50% larger than the Ft. Griffin quarters. It
has two bedrooms, two bathrooms, two working fireplaces, a large front porch and an
excellent view of the valley. A
king-sized bed is in the master bedroom. Two twin beds are in the
other bedroom. The main room has a full sized sleeper sofa and twin
day-bed with a trundle bed. The cabin can sleep 6-8
comfortably. The quarters has two full baths. It is handicap
accessible. There is a wheelchair ramp in the back and a
roll-in shower.
